Finally, it's time to wrap-up this parking brake cable problem that I encountered last May..... If you followed this thread, you know that the '47 cables that BDammers47 and I needed are a bit different than the cables offered by the vendors. While the overall length of the standard steel cables is comparable, the cable housing length is about 2 1/2" shorter than required.

I had Madison Power Systems make the parking brake cables that I needed to complete the job. The cable housings have sealed ends to keep moisture out and the steel cables are coated to slow down the corrosion problem that ultimately cause these cables to rust and lock-up. The cables were $69.95 each, plus shipping. I've got these cables installed and the parking brake working like new!
