Ditto on what Mike B. said. You need to keep your drum brakes adjusted up, and everything in good working order and they should be fine. DO NOT neglect keeping them adjusted, or you can run into issues. Disc brakes are nice but, not entirely necessary, especially if you are not hot-rodding around (which most of us in the big-bolts don't!
