Need help choosing what thickness of glass setting tape to order.
(Not interested in using silicone or urethane.)
The side window gap is about .079 in. Does this indicate 5/64 (.078) or 3/32 (.094) tape?
The windshield gap is .051 on the driver side and .045 on the passenger side (due to slight difference in glass thickness). Does this indicate 3/64 (.047) or 1/16 (.063) tape?
I'm guessing tape slightly thinner than the gap is desirable for ease of assembly, assuming modern glass setting tape is still able to be swelled by oil. Otherwise I would think slightly thicker tape would be required to prevent water intrusion. Which is correct?
