While it's out, check the oiling to the rocker assembly. Remove the valve cover and take that screwdriver mentioned above, and take off the handle, then chuck the screwdriver up in your electric drill. Run the drill and make sure your rocker oiling is even and you have oil seeping out of each rocker. The drill speed should also be sufficient to see your oil pressure if you have a gauge hooked up. Put the slot in the bottom back where you found it, or you will have some playing to do to get your distributor back in.
Once its back in, make sure its down all the way. It IS possible to have the rotor turning and the engine running fine and have ZERO oil pressure because you didn't put it down all the way. Check your oil pressure once its in right away. This is discussed in detail here:
