If its a '46 this truck is 59 years old. Even if its been parked in a barn for half that time its still difficult to say with certainty that the motor has not been replaced somewhere along the line.

And if the job was done by a good mechanic there might not be any evidence of the swap.

The more original and complete the truck is otherwise, the more likely anyone working on the motor would be to attemp to maintain the original appearance.
