I have some repair work to do on my '64's fenders. One of them's split, and all of them have dents. What do I need to buy, toolwise, to get these straight? My hood has a few wrinkles too. I want to use as much original steel as possible.
I will have to replace the rear cab corners, rockers, lower fenders, typical rust areas. I've seen two types of tools for sheetmetal replacement; one is a flanger, that would flange the replacement panel and create an overlap. The other is a basic buttwelding tool; it holds the two panels together with a certain gap between the two. Have any of you used either of these, and if you've used both, which do you prefer / recommend? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
