Same deal with any truck larger than 1/2 ton.
Knowing what you have and what you can use from the little trucks is just part of playing with these old beast.

Be thankful that bunches of people like any model of these old trucks and that so many parts are available because of that interest.

I don't see why you can't put dual exhaust on your truck? It is just parts and pieces and exhaust pipes can be lengthened or modified to suit. You know the engines are/can be the same right?.
