Racecarldad used this procedure on a small pipe wrench he found in a field somewhere many years ago. It was so rusty it was hard to tell what it was. I can't remember how long he 'soaked' the pipe wrench. He used an old stainless steel butter knife for an annode. There is not a bit of rust left on the pipe wrench and it is a servicable tool now.
