Still nothing resolved with the wiper conversion...here is photo of how the wiper motor "clears" the choke cable..
shown here..... another view here So I was on the phone with Jim Carter truck parts...boy those guys are great...he even sent me a photo (below) of what he sent me and this wiper conversion is the one the vendor told him would fit under the dash of a 1953 Chevy truck...
in the box before the install I was also in touch with the folks at Newport...they wanted a picture so I sent all three shown here...
something isn't right here....to me a clearance fit on a part is you have space between things for air to pass...not so with this...choke cable hits and doesn't even work...I did have a brain fart and I unhooked the choke cable...took it off the truck and physically bent the mounting point on the dash so the cable would clear...it looks stupid as heck when it is pulled out from the dash as it is bent at about a 5 degree angle...I rerouted it around the other side of the fresh air vent to ease in the operation of the cable...
this is a head scratcher for sure...
Anybody see what is wrong in those pictures???
