OK, to make this more interesting, on our 66 Burb, the reverse switch is mounted vertical, and the lever on the shifter pushes straight down on it. Yesterday, I looked at a 66 Burb that a man is taking apart, and it has a button switch that is mounted horizontal, and when put into reverse, it rides along a rail. Both appear to be a factory setup, and seem to be quite rare. Does anyone know, was this standard equipment starting in 66 on trucks and Suburban's both with a 4 speed? And is one style more prevalent than the other?
