Hi guys today I dcided to drive my '62 to work, (haven't driven truck for over 3 weeks) and I got about 3-4 miles from the house when the rear view mirror started to vibrate real bad. I did'nt think nothing of it, cause it always vibrates. I get about another 2 miles doing 50mph with the radio blaring, the next thing I knew I hear over the tunes a real horrible, nasty not good sound with a bunch of clunks. I then try to get it out of gear, but it's stuck. I push in the clutchgave a few taps on the gas peddle to see if it was the engine, nope engine runs fine. I let the truck coast another 1/2 mile to the nearest stop sign. Then I pushed it off the road cussing whie pushing the truck it was making a "clunk" every few seconds. A guy stops by, and lets me call the house to get a tow truck. after the guy leaves I see if I could get the truck to move on it's own. Sure enough, it could move on it's own, but anything above 10 mph it makes a horrible sound with a real bad vibration.

Now it's sitting in the street, and I really am tired of messing with the clutch, tranny, and the driveline.
Tomorrow i'll put it up on stands, and see what's the weakest link. I think the front U-joint closest to the tranny is the problem, but a week ago the truck popped into gear, and made a simular "clunk" sound.
Any ideas what I should all check?
Also this was on my stock 1962 C10.
TIA,
David

My truck don't leak oil, it just marks its teritory.
