I had to replace the original 235 Loadmaster in my 49 model 4400 1 1/2T. I put in a 1956 car 235 and had to do the water pump mod. Also had to replace the pilot bushing for the transmission. The 56 car engine pilot bushing is different and won't fit the 49 trans input shaft. I re-used the 49 pilot by shaving a few thousandths off the outer diameter.
