Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 319 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2014 Posts: 319 | It's been a 2-week nightmare but my truck should be delivered tomorrow. I'd just completed a nut-&-bolt restoration w/minor sorting left when it came time to make our move to OR. The trucking co. made a mess of everything and it will now be delivered by a different company that's taken over the transport.
I just got a call from the driver who says there are footprints all over the hood - Adidas - and it's stuck in that middle position. He can't get the hood open but it also won't latch fully closed. A tug and it pops up to that middle position.
He's winched it on his truck (dead battery) and will deliver it, but then what?
Has anyone had this issue? Suggestions for solving? I'm wondering about a Sawsall to go through the gap and cut the latch mechanism, then replace it with a repop. Would that work??
A VW guy trying his hand at a '59 LB fs. Lots to learn, but it's about the journey.
