Overfilling the crankcase turns the crankshaft into a very efficient washing machine agitator. Just don't try to drive the vehicle, as the solvent destroys a lot of the lubricating and load-bearing properties of the oil. It's OK to run the engine as long as no driving load goes on the bearings.

Carl, being able to be a blunt, insensitive, and just a bit irritating old geezer is one of the few perks I can think of after spending 50-something years wrenching on these old rigs! The aches, pains, and scars of half a century of doing dumb stuff, not so much!
