My 1948 1/2 ton presently has the rear brake lines going directly into the backing plate. I am changing to a dual master cylinder and replacing all brake lines. I am using the Tech tip for this procedure but still have a couple of questions I need help with 1) Where the 1/4 lines originally connected with a brass brake wheel cylinder block to the back plate or was this a modification by previous owner(s)? If so is the direct connection OK, or not?

2) Where the 1/4 brake lines originally routed through the U bolts that attach the axle to the leaf springs, or was this a modification by previous owner(s)?

Appreciate any and all information on this.
