Deve,
In the scientific world, what HRL is doing is referred to as peer review.
If you think that he is rude, then you have never been subjected to actual scientific peer review. They are brutal and ruthless.
There is a reason for it. Thorough peer review encourages scientists to work as hard to disprove their own theories as they do to prove them. This approach saves everyone a lot of wasted time.
If you can't take the scintific heat, then maybe you should stay out of the laboratory's kitchen.
Rather than getting all pissy at comments made about what you are trying to do, maybe you need to sharpen your debating skills and constructively argue the issues point by point.
It has been my observation, over a significant length of time, that you have a tendency to get an idea in your head, then consider it to be "the answer", then you get defensive when someone counters with a differing opinion about the idea in your head.
My suggestion to you is, lighten up Francis!
You are a great idea guy.
You would be more productive if you honestly embraced criticism and differences of opinion.
Carl
