vtapache,

I know nothing about paint combinations in 1959; however, I have a set of Dupont paint chips (sheets) for all 1959 Chevrolet vehicles.

I do not know what PPO 740D stands for.

740D seems to be the code for Cardinal Red (lower) and Bombay Ivory (upper) on a standard cab. The sheets state that the D indicates standard cab with two-tone combination colors.

The upper body color on all combination color cabs was Bombay Ivory (Dulux 93072961) and the lower body was one of 14 colors. Omaha Orange is Dulux 93-082 (same code back to early 50s and probably used even earlier). The wheels were painted the lower body color (on combination color cabs).

In case you are interested, Cardinal Red is Dulux 93-58209-H.

I might not be reading the sheets properly, so I hope someone else with knowledge of 1959 models answers your question.

Good luck,
Tim
