I tore down a 1951 torque tube and a 1949 torque tube and they were both 1" long.
The 1949 had a dowel and the 1950 did not have a dowel, but the dowel was tough to find.
I think I remember the rear bushing being longer but I dont remember the length. Are you sure you are comparing front bushings on both?
