I agree and have already said that it says 5000. It's just that I saw a "paddle"/lever that looks like what he has, on that sheet, and the 3100 sheet seems to show 6 cylinder carb set up. It's all I could find. Thought maybe they used the same setup on 5000 V8's as other V8 models. I may be missing the page that shows 3100 V8. I don't have a clue what set up he has and thought maybe that pic would jiggle up some thoughts. Waiting for more pics or someone who really knows what he has. I have seen all types of mis match parts from previous owners used on trucks. I think I have explained about every scenario I can figure out to help from my house.
Sounds like if you know they are a "totally different carb linkage set up", you would know what the other looks like, right? So let us/him know. Without any acknowledgement or feedback from an OP, it's hard to try and help until the posse arrives. Could not understand his last post, maybe he left off the word "six". The 5000 came with a V8. As I said I wouldn't bother trying to hook up a hand throttle. If your choke works, you don't need it.
The 3100 283 was RPO, the 5000 was std. Don't know if all RPO's for every year are shown in FAM.
