Gas pedal rod linkage pushes bottom of bar (bell crank) forward which pulls top of bell crank back and carb linkage back for acceleration. Throttle shaft rotates CW to accelerate, looking at driver side of carb. Even with those terrible pics I see an extra piece. Is that an automatic in that truck? Looks like a kick down bracket or cable bracket? If you have a stick shift, don't need that. You say "cable" and I see rod linkage. Explain what you want to do. If you are using a cable on the pedal, it will pull not push like a rod so........ you bypass the bell crank, install a cable shield keeper and pull on the carb shaft at about the same place as rod would pull. They sell brackets for that. A 58 was not cable on pedal.
