What cylinder? Factory Assembly Manual, Chevrolet Truck 1955-1959, section 6, sheet 23 and 24. I am looking right at it. Choke and throttle control.
Sheet 24 says it's for model 5000, seems like a V8 and looks like cable may go thru a "paddle" that I see in your pic 2. Sheet 23 seems to show a 6 cyl version. Cable goes thru firewall to paddle, sheath is clamped at firewall just above paddle. Wire goes thru paddle slotted hole and a barrel clamp is attached to wire. Pull on throttle on dash and paddle goes up? and operates bell crank? or over rides bell crank? or is on a separate pivot? Not sure. You tell me.
The other way, sh 23, is if the carb is set up for a hand throttle. Common on Rochester B carbs and etc. Can't see your carb.
Holes for the sheath clip may possibly be seen in Sec 1 sheet 39.00.
