Even if works but does not last forever it will give you time to find the right engine while you can use your truck.

I am in the middle of doing a restoration which will go on for some time, I am looking into getting a new block to rebuild it. Because the crack is so large I just wouldn't feel comfortable leaving it. Even if you tap on the side of the block you can hear the weakness in it. I have to wonder if it had a fine crack and when I knocked the new plugs in it may have opened up further?
The worst thing is the head was only used in 50-52 trucks and its going to be fun to find a block to match. Looks like RPM may have one that could work.
