I have a 1962 C10 and plan to replace the 235 with a 261 which I have. The engine specs are: Block 3769925, cast D33 (April 3, 1963). Head 3836850, cast E221 (May 22, 1961). Number pad by the distributor is blank. This engine is set up for a bypass filter (pin is flush with the block) and came out of a 1955 school bus. I also have a 55-57 OD trans to use with it. It will have dual exhaust; either a well made split manifold if I can find one, or Fenton/Williams headers. But I'm stuck on carb choice. I want something better than the original Rochester. The Weber DGEV sounds good, but I'm not sure it is big enough (230 cfm). From my research, dual C-W are too small. I can find nothing here about dual DGEVs, but I think they would be too much. I don't plan any cam changes.
