Deve, I worked out the kinks on my engine stand plate about 10 years ago. It's balanced almost perfectly with my tube in the current position. I also have small spacers to move the block outward from the plate to reduce the crank flange interference just like all engine stands have, as well as a 1" diameter piece of long bar to slip through the end of the tube to help rotate the engine. Even with a fully dressed Stovebolt or GMC it is balanced so well that it takes very little effort to rotate it on the engine stand.
