I am interested in this thread as this issue happens to me frequently in warmer weather...starting again after a short term shut off, be it a 500 mile day or frequent yard sale stop/shut off/go in warmer weather. I have an alternator, do not have Dave's 'water pump re-locator' on this '56 engine but do have it installed on a '62 261 I am in the process of getting together for a summer install.
