I'm going to agree with Jerry here. If you run your truck for half an hour or more (takes less on hot days), shut it off and restart it within five minutes, it'll be fine. If it sits longer, the heat under the hood from the hot engine causes Jerry's "hot soak". It will also cause the fuel in the fuel line from the pump to the carb to expand, feeding more fuel into the carb even after it's shut down. If you were to pop the hood you would find your carb is wet from excess fuel seeping out.
