When I was a kid - maybe 10 years old? - my dad borrowed a truck (probably a mid-50s Ford IIRC) from a friend to haul something. I was in the bed on the trip (it was legal then!) and was seriously afraid that the bed was going to "finish" separating from the cab and dump me on the road.
