| | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 301 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 301 | Like Hotrod Lincoln said the battery is there to smooth out the voltage from the regulator and provide steady power to the ignition system. Very rare it will stay running and poorly at best without the battery...and only at more than a idle if it does. If it drops to an idle it will die. The voltage coming from the regulator isn't clean enough to run the igniton system.
