OK, I admit up front that I am not capable or knowledgable at all about doing body work or painting. I have just finished cleaning and painting my frame but I'm not about to tackle any exterior body parts so they are going to go to a good painter. I do however want to put some protection on the inside of fenders and the bottom of the cab. They are in pretty good shape and clean up well with a wire wheel, so I'm planning on painting them with Chassis Black and not using any undercoat product.
1. Will this be enough protection for my daily driver, assuming that I inspect every few months and touchup?
2. Should I paint the underside before I take them to the bodyshop/painter?
