It's not recommended to spray an entire vehicle in ac.enamel w/out hardener, but what you're doing should be just fine. I used to use ac.enamel a lot, but never sprayed it with no hardener, mostly because I was told you can't color sand and buff un-hardened ac.enamel properly, and it won't resist gas, tar, salt etc. like Josiah said.
