My nephew has an 04 Colorado with 355,000 miles on it and still running strong. They get 25mpg and although not a neck snapper they aren't embarrassing. A turbo and other goodies will kick them up to about 400hp at the rear wheels. Hope you post progress photos as this is an interesting thread. We have a 4.2 six cylinder from a Trailblazer and after seeing your photo it may have just found a new home.
