I used a cloth with harness from YNZ on my 52 GMC. I believe your 50 Chevy would use the same one. The harness doesn't care if it is 6 or 12 volts. The generator, voltage regulator and coil on mine are all 12 volts and the coil has an internal resistor. All the metal tags markings are are stamped so it would take a pretty good eye to see that the system is not 6 volts. The harness was expensive, but was easy to install. If you scroll back through the album you will see pictures of the generator, starter, coil and distributor. Here is a picture of my installation.
