After the fact....if you have a friend that can help I like to turn the head cross ways and then, both of us learn over the fender and pick it up, walk forward with it.
...and as said, use guide bolts for sure when putting it back on. I used a couple lengths of "all thread" or threaded rod, as some call it and it worked just great.
