Set them all the same, and each cylinder will act the same. Doesn't matter if the lash is wide or tight as long as they are alike. I'm an old geezer and get confused easily. Are you trying to tell us that an old GMC will run just as well with all of the exhaust valves set at .002 as it will if they are set at the recommended .020 just as long as they are all set at .002. If this is what you are trying to say, I agree with Jerry.
