The number 58 is stamped in the middle of the plate.........at least thats all I can see. The 5KD12xxxx is in the very bottom right corner. After looking closer, the 58 may be only part of what was once there? Maybe the GVW? Could that be 5800 lbs GVW for this 3/4 ton model? I am considering a new blank tag to mount on the passenger side upper cowl that has a space for model and gvw-lbs. What model name should be stamped in the space for Model on a new/blank tag from Chevys from the 40's? thanks, George
