What I do is not as classy and realistic as painting a sign on the door. I have two 12"x24" magnetic sheets with different "logos" (@$18, delivered).
logo 1 - for a business (my painter's family business) logo 1 - describing the "personality" of my COE This allows me to change/remove (or obtain different) signs any time.
If I had a business, or if I was trying to match an original sign, I'd get the period-correct-looking sign painted on.
