Folks,
I have a 1950 3600 with a 1954 motor that I just got home. My shade-tree mechanic did some work on it for me - which included installing an alternator. From my understanding this now means I am running 12v.
The wiring is a complete nightmare, with many random wires running everywhere, most of which are cut, spliced, respliced and then spliced again. My best bet at this point is to just start over with the wiring. I have been looking around at harnesses, but $600 is a little out of my budget right now. I've looked on eBay, LMC truck etc but am not sure what to go with. I don't want to go with the factory replacement as from my understanding, I would not be using the 6v parts.
If I were to buy a universal 12v harness, what would that mean for my gauges, lights, radio etc? This is where I get pretty confused. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
