I read that the carb's metal coating wears off over time and the alcohol reacts with the base metal and oxidizes leaving a residue.There even was a picture of the crud. So I cleaned the system and tried alcohol free gas and it worked. No more crud. Put over 3000 miles on it like that.
So was I fed a line of bull before? what's the story here?
I would still like to know what carb other than a rochester g will fit my engine without modifications.
