the red arrow shows the adapter now used to connect the original wiper blade ARM to the
newer style wiper blade. the original ARM has a 360 degree rotating adjustment. the adapter holds the original ARM
using the little 'button' found on the original ARM to
the adapter, which then connects to the new blade.
this ADAPTER is as shown 1.0'' long

thus

extending the new blade 1'' NOW hitting the windshield center split trim piece.
