What is the adapter you refer to?
" . . the new blade has an adapter to connect the new replacement blade to my old ARM. when I use this it extends the blade by 3/4" and now hits the center window trim "
The only other factor would be your wiper arms?
Are they the same as original?
Why is an adapter needed/used?
