Ok. I connected the red wire to the brake switch, and removed the original wire. The stop lights, obviously, quit flashing as well.

I configured the tail lights a mentioned above, but still the signals don't work.

Is it possible that the turn signal doesn't work? Is there any diagrams or images of the inside of the switch that can help me figure out if anything is wrong?
