Hy Lemmm117, if the carb kit has been sitting on a shelf for a long time the accelerator pump plunger may have shrunk to a minimum size, it should plump back up once it is immersed in fuel. The synthetic cups on the plungers do not seem to have the shrinkage issue. I don't know what issues may arise from the ethanol in today's fuel, I imagine most of the carb kits in circulation today were assembled long before fuel had any ethanol in it, hope that helps.
