Volfandt, can I get to that modulator valve without lifting the truck? The fluid is DOT 3 if I recall. Linkage is good. The I6-250 PowerGlide has no kickdown linkage that I am familiar with, but I would have to hit the books. The only linkage I see is the choke and throttle. But I would not know a kick-down linkage if it kicked me in the buttt.
