| | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | My 54/55 Chevrolet and GMC regular cab trucks had the original paint on the outer-side of the gas tanks and it looks to me that they were painted in-place when the interior was painted.
As I recall, the hold-on straps were not painted (but I am not sure about that).
