My '55 T.F. hinges were factory carriage bolts. I ground the heads off,and replaced the pins, with a set I bought off of "E-Bay",(4 pins, plus 8 bushings),for about $12.00. One of the pins,(the lower passenger side, cause of the trouble,)was frozen in the hinge body, and broken-off,flush with the "top hole". I put the body in a vise, and heated the area around the pin. When the area was heated enough, the pin was driven out with a punch, and hammer. I then gently drove the bushings flush with the housing, and installed the pin. I ground the pin off, about 1/4" below the bottom hole, and peened the end,to keep it from "Riding-up". "Riding-up" could result in the pin eventually raising above the bottom hinge hole. Hope this helps.
