I had been trying to reach Ned for over a month and getting the same weird phone message. He has been on my mind lately and I knew I needed to keep trying. So, I hated the thought of doing this, but figured it was the one way to rule this idea out.

But I was wrong ...


"Ned L. Messerschmidt Jr., 61, of Orchard Beach, passed away at 2:09 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 at his home."

The last we did talk, he sounded chipper. He was glad to be home. He was getting very tired of the blood transfusions almost every day - since they would take up his entire day.

There was not other obituary written (that I could find) but The Ned left us a nice "I'm passing" wave note with this thread.
