I had my 2 ton apart this weekend, trying out a disk brake idea, and noticed the bearings don't look like a normal roller wheel bearing. In addition, they have no rear/inner seal.
It looks like you pump grease through the bearings and a little steel hat directs the excess back to the front of the drum, mostly.

How have i never seen this before? I've wrenched for 20 years.

Possible to convert it to normal tapered rollers and a real seal? Our do i just really need to find a p30 axle?
