Spring loaded glaze breaker. There is no ring groove just a little mark on one side of each the cyl.(the start of a ring groove). The only thing i was going to do was clean up the cyls. to get rid of the surface rust,(or deglaze) before it goes to the machine shop for boil and magnaflux. Like I said Motor was rebuilt, truck wrecked, motor pulled and it has sat in a barn for 40+ years. And again THANKS for the replies Eric
