Russ, I take the easy way because I am not a welder and will probably offent the experts, I had to patch some holes up on my international pick-up where some mirrors use to be, I just went to home depot and got some of this epoxy putty that you can use for a lot of things, will get as hard as steel in a few min, then I sanded and painted, came out pretty good, that was 15 yrs or so on the truck, still looks good, used it the other day on my 52 where one of the tail pipes had broken, just like new now,,, I love this stuff,,,you can fix leaks etc, just pinch a little off ,roll it up and it is good to go,,may not be worth while and a show tuck,but a daily driver,,may even be ok for a show truck, I guess some one will speak ill of it, but this stuff has saved me much in repairs instead of useing the pro in that area......Oatey epxoy putty, regards...Fred
