To me,(I'M NO EXPERT),it sounds like it wants to run,until you let up on the stomp. It sounds like an electrical issue,as mentioned in several previous posts. Check your ign. switch,and make sure all of your connections are clean,and tight.If the wire that connects from the switch to the ballast resistor is loose,it will act the same as a bad ballast resistor.Same with the connection from resistor to coil. The resistor is constructed like a fuse. If there's a break in the wire,you have no current to the coil,once the starting circuit is by-passed. Maybe the switch itself took a dump? My switch was the culprit,along with the ballast resistor,when I had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. It's strange,but they both quit simultaneously! Hope this helps.
